The Enable Student Control of Autoplay Audio and Captions? dropdown on the Student Details page can be used to give students control over some accessibility features in Read Live.
To enable students to control audio behaviors and captioning across Read Live student applications:
Log in to the Staff Member Module.
If you are a Teacher, select Student Setup from the navigation menu.
If you are an Account Administrator or School Coordinator, select Student Administration from the navigation menu, and then click Student Setup.On the Students page, use column filters and the Search by Group menu to narrow the list of students displayed, if necessary.
In the Last Name column, click the last name of the student whose information you would like to update.
Change the Enable Student Control of Autoplay Audio and Captions? dropdown to Yes.
Click Save & Close.
As a student, to prevent audio from playing automatically on Read Live application pages:
Log into Read Live.
On the student dashboard page where Read Live application tiles are listed, use the accessibility menu in the footer to open the Accessibility Settings menu.
Turn the Autoplay Audio toggle OFF.
Automatic lesson and direction audio on Read Live pages will not play until the student actively uses a control to play it.
As a student, to show captions for lesson and direction audio on Read Live application pages:
Log into Read Live.
On the student dashboard page where Read Live application tiles are listed, use the accessibility menu in the footer to open the Accessibility Settings menu.
Turn the Audio Captions toggle ON.
Captions will appear for lessons and direction audio on Read Live pages.
